這首《如果》是 吉卜林 寫給他 12 歲兒子的詩。
并且，這首詩也被用來作為 邁克爾·杰克遜（Michael Jackson）的 墓志銘。

如果
If you can keep your head when all about you, Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
如果你能，在別人不知所措?yún)s對你橫加指責的時候，仍能保持清醒的頭腦；
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
如果你能，在所有人都懷疑你的時候，
But make allowance for their doubting too;

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
