2016-06-27 #Call me by your name week2

This week's content is the hardest part of the whole book. Fro me I think I'm getting used to the way this author expressed himself. The romance and wild sex the young boy was having with his gay friend and girlfriend had became a daily routine and even masterbates he had when he was alone. I don't mean to be judgmental but what I feel is really not type of life I want to live.

Several topics, however,? still draw my attention and I think which were deserved to be talked about.

“Do you save your winnings?”
“Save and invest, Pro”
“I wish I’d had your head at your age; I would have spared myself many mistaken turns,”said my father.
“You, mistaken turns, Pro? Frankly, I can’t picture you even imagining a mistaken turn.”
“That’s because you see me as a figure, not a human being. Worse yet: as an old figure. But there were. Mistaken turns, that is. Everyone goes through a period of traviamento --- when we take, say, a different turn in life, the other via. Dante himself did. Some recover, some pretend to recover, some never come back, some chicken out before even starting, and some, for fear of taking any turns, find themselves leading the wrong life all life long.”

Take this dialogue as an example, I really like the response the professor made, which leads to my deep consideration of my life.

What are the mistaken turns in you life?

Have you ever been through a period of traviamento?

How did you recover?

I totally agree with him.

Everyone goes through a period of traviamento --- when we take, say, a different turn in life, the other via. Dante himself did.

But not all of us recover from those mistaken turns. Some of us never come back. They've even not had the chance to try to recover. What a sad thing.

I've been through similar situations and I've seen best friends who were struggling to get out of disasters and get back on track of a normal life.

But not all of us recover.

The other topic is growth, about growing up.

Oliver told Elio ' Get lost --- that's what grow up means. '

Do you have the feeling that getting lost, that's what grow up means.

I had been a through a period of such feeling. I couldn’t find the meaning of life, the meaning of fighting, struggling, and even loving others.

After changing four different jobs and even more girlfriends than this, I untimely found the direction of my career and life, which I appreciate a lot. It's not easy to explain.

I hope anyone who's getting lost because of growing up, could find the right direction after wondering for a while.
