11月晨讀復(fù)盤–Goodbye,?Mr.?Chips

第一次參加晨讀,早晨時(shí)間不允許,全程只能事后聽回放。老實(shí)講對(duì)這種幾十年前的英文書不是很感興趣,而且感覺生詞太多,超出我的能力范圍,但是認(rèn)真聽過回放后發(fā)現(xiàn)依然可以在自己的能力范圍內(nèi)學(xué)到很多,所以這次我的目標(biāo)也是把晨讀中Eric提到的內(nèi)容學(xué)明白就好。非常感謝Eric!

以下是筆記流水賬,很多地方還需要再查字典做功課。

1. get on in years: (字典上沒有查到)年紀(jì)漸老

當(dāng)并不想表達(dá)強(qiáng)烈的轉(zhuǎn)折的意味時(shí),however, despite這類表轉(zhuǎn)折的詞可以放在句中或句尾。

as well as 和and不一樣,強(qiáng)調(diào)的是前面的部分,and是并列平行關(guān)系

Just as the body needs regular exercise, so too an engine needs to be run at regular intervals.

Just, too都可以省略
