2. Think about how you can use this book to teach Sight Words in class. You need to provide your own activities for your class.

Group 1: 每個(gè)孩子拿到一張空白的Monster,教會孩子每種顏色對應(yīng)的情緒,這個(gè)部分可以板書留在黑/白板上,然后請孩子來涂色,涂完之后可以簡單介紹一下自己在畫這個(gè)小怪獸的時(shí)候想的是哪件事情。同一個(gè)小怪獸可以不止一個(gè)顏色。然后可以用“大風(fēng)吹”的游戲來玩,重復(fù)并加深記憶。

對于低幼的孩子,喜歡用什么顏色就用什么顏色來涂。然后可以用“It's Xcolor.”這個(gè)句型來強(qiáng)化。目標(biāo)是聽覺(單詞的念法)與視覺(顏色)的整合。涂色的方式可以是彩筆,也可以是小手直接蘸上無毒顏料來畫。接著配合“投籃”游戲來進(jìn)行強(qiáng)化。

另外可以通過對應(yīng)顏色的實(shí)物來讓孩子們體驗(yàn)顏色的感覺。比如紅色可以代表熱以及辣(紅辣椒)、黃色可以代表溫暖與甜蜜(秋日、香蕉)、綠色可以代表寧靜(看森林的圖片、聞青草的味道)、藍(lán)色可以代表冷(嘗一塊冰塊)、黑色代表神秘(黑色的宇宙、黑白太極圖)等等,也可以讓孩子們發(fā)散性思維來討論。

Group 2:表示動作的sight word可以在講完之后請孩子們選一個(gè)動詞來動手畫畫看,并配上一句完整的英文句子。(老師課程內(nèi)容里的這種方式)

游戲環(huán)節(jié):用“你演我猜”來猜表演者表演的是那個(gè)動詞,猜對了表演者可以領(lǐng)走寫有這個(gè)sight word的卡片,沒猜對就請表演者用一句話或者一個(gè)詞組來揭曉謎底。還可以用“一二三、木頭人”的游戲來玩這些動詞。

Group3: 用圖片來講授I,my;you,your;he,his;they,their;并搭配簡單手勢來學(xué)習(xí)這四組代詞。單手表示人稱代詞,雙手表示物主代詞。比如I,單手放在自己胸口,my,雙手放在胸口;you,單手?jǐn)傞_掌心向上朝向自己面對的人,your,雙手;he,單手?jǐn)傞_掌心向上朝向任意一位男孩子,his,雙手;they,單手?jǐn)傞_掌心向上比向斜上方,their雙手;還可以請孩子們試著用連線的方式把單詞的對應(yīng)關(guān)系表示出來。

游戲環(huán)節(jié):給孩子們分組,用蘿卜蹲的游戲來強(qiáng)化記憶。孩子們分成8組,老師念到I,那么I這組蹲下后喊my,接著my這組也下蹲;反過來亦然。反應(yīng)不夠迅速或者蹲錯(cuò)的孩子出列另外組成一隊(duì),老師念的每一個(gè)代詞請他們都用手勢來表示。

Group4:用問句的形式配合實(shí)物與圖片道具來教授這兩個(gè)sight words,幫助孩子們理解這些wh詞是什么意思。

句型:繪本中的What emotion could it be?

When you are happy/sad/angry/calm/afraid,you feel…… ?

What will you do?

游戲環(huán)節(jié):搶椅子,找5把椅子,每一把代表一種情緒,請6個(gè)小朋友來參加,其他孩子和老師一起以一定的節(jié)奏一邊拍手一邊念:What emotion could it be?然后老師說:I feel at peace when I'm ……(停頓)……calm.當(dāng)老師念出最后一個(gè)情緒的單詞時(shí),大家搶強(qiáng)椅子坐。沒有坐到的同學(xué)回答When I'm calm, I will 做什么事情。然后老師撤掉一把椅子,游戲繼續(xù)。
