Spirit, soul, and body: what is the difference?
靈、魂、體: 有什么區(qū)別？
There are a few places in the Bible where spirit, soul and body are all three mentioned:
圣經(jīng)中有幾個(gè)地方提到了靈spirit、魂soul 、體三者：
“Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians 5:23)

But what exactly is meant by body, soul and spirit?
但身體、魂和靈究竟是什么意思呢?
It seems not too difficult to distinguish the body from the soul and spirit.
把身體從魂和靈中區(qū)分開來似乎并不太難。
The body is physical and with the five senses (sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch) it connects and interacts with the outer world.
身體是物質(zhì)的，有五種感覺（視覺、聽覺、味覺、嗅覺和觸覺），它與外部世界相連并相互作用。
The soul and spirit are much more difficult to separate from each other. Many Christians hold to the opinion that the soul is the part of us that covers our will, affections and thoughts.
魂（soul ）和靈更難彼此分離。許多基督徒堅(jiān)持認(rèn)為魂（soul ）是我們的一部分，包括我們的意志、情感和思想。
The soul is the part of us that connects with our fellow human beings.
魂是我們與人類同胞相聯(lián)系的一部分。
The spirit is the part that connects to God and covers matters like faith, trust, worship and so on.
靈是與神相連的部分，涵蓋了信心、信靠、敬拜等事務(wù)。
The spirit is seen as the innermost part of our being.
靈被視為我們最深處的部分。
It is enveloped by our soul, which in turn is enveloped by our body.
它被我們的魂所包圍，而魂又被我們的身體所包圍。
The spirit then is the part that needs regeneration in the person who does not know God.
因此，靈就是那不認(rèn)識(shí)神的人需要重生的部分。
However, a closer look to the way in which the words soul and spirit are used in the Scriptures, reveals that it is not easy to pinpoint their exact meaning.
然而，仔細(xì)觀察《圣經(jīng)》中“魂”和“靈”這兩個(gè)詞的用法，就會(huì)發(fā)現(xiàn)，要確定它們的確切含義并不容易。
Sometimes the word ‘soul’ refers to the part of the human being that will live on in eternity as in Matthew 10:28: “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. And in the Great Commandment, we are taught to love God with all of our soul”(Matthew 22:37).
有時(shí)，“魂soul”一詞指的是人將永生的部分，如馬太福音10章28節(jié)所說:那殺身體、不能殺靈魂soul的，不要怕他們；惟有能把身體和靈魂soul都滅在地獄里的，正要怕他?！?/p>

The word spirit is not mentioned in these verses; yet they address our relationship to God, not to fellow men.
這些經(jīng)文中沒有提到“靈spirit ”一詞，但它們論述的是我們與神的關(guān)系，而不是我們與人的關(guān)系。
It seems that God did not find it important to give us a clear definition of the two words.
Even though a distinction is made between spirit in soul in 1 Thessalonians 5:23 and Hebrews 4:12, it does not become exactly clear what the distinction implies.
上帝似乎并不認(rèn)為給我們兩個(gè)詞一個(gè)明確的定義很重要。
雖然《帖撒羅尼迦前書》5:23和《希伯來書》4:12對(duì)魂中的靈進(jìn)行了區(qū)分，但這一區(qū)別的含義并不是很清楚。

Anything that contains the spirit is called a soul. A souls could also refer to this body that we are in now, or it could refer to another type of body that can contain our spirit in heaven.
任何含靈的東西都被稱為魂。魂也可以指我們現(xiàn)在所處的身體，或者指另一種可以在天堂容納我們的靈魂的身體。
They are separate. The spirit comes from God. The soul is formed.
他們是分離的。靈來自上帝。魂是形成的。
The spirit exist within a soul. But the soul can exist apart from the human body.
靈存在于魂之中，但魂可以脫離人類身體而存在。
The soul contains the spirit. The body can envelopes the soul, which can contain the spirit.
魂包含著靈，肉體可以包裹含著魂，魂容納著靈。
The body is also a soul.
肉體也是一個(gè)靈魂。
The most important thing we need to remember is that the part of us which is referred to as soul or spirit, needs regeneration by God’s Spirit.
我們需要記住的最重要的一點(diǎn)是，我們身體中被稱為魂或靈的那部分，需要上帝的靈再生。
Without the Spirit’s work in us, we are dead and unable to know God and unable to understand his word.
沒有圣靈在我們里面的工作，我們就死了，不能認(rèn)識(shí)神，也不能明白他的話。
