鮑勃·迪倫1941年5月24日出生于美國(guó)明尼蘇達(dá)州，原名羅伯特·艾倫·齊默曼（Robert Allen Zimmerman），是有著重要影響力的一位美國(guó)唱作人、民謠歌手、音樂(lè)家、詩(shī)人。作為一個(gè)音樂(lè)家，迪倫的唱片總銷量已超過(guò)1億，是世界范圍內(nèi)最暢銷的音樂(lè)藝人之一。
此外，鮑勃·迪倫還獲得過(guò)1991年格萊美終身成就獎(jiǎng)；2000年奧斯卡最佳原創(chuàng)歌曲獎(jiǎng)；2001年金球獎(jiǎng)最佳原創(chuàng)歌曲獎(jiǎng)；2008年普利策獎(jiǎng)特別榮譽(yù)獎(jiǎng)；2013年法國(guó)榮譽(yù)軍團(tuán)騎士勛章；2008年諾貝爾文學(xué)獎(jiǎng)提名。
鮑勃在高中的時(shí)候就組建了自己的樂(lè)隊(duì)。1959年高中畢業(yè)后，就讀于明尼蘇達(dá)大學(xué)。在讀大學(xué)期間，對(duì)民謠產(chǎn)生興趣，開(kāi)始在學(xué)校附近的民謠圈子演出，并首度以鮑勃·迪倫作藝名。1961年簽約哥倫比亞唱片公司。1962年推出處女專輯名為《鮑勃·迪倫》。 1963年起，瓊·貝茲邀請(qǐng)迪倫與她一起巡回演出。
