在英語語系的國家里，人們敬酒時，基本都說cheers。但實際上，cheers與“干杯”的字面意思同樣不盡相同，并沒有“一飲而盡”之意。而且，cheers也不僅僅是舉杯敬酒時才使用，它的用處非常廣泛，也有“喝彩、鼓舞、鼓勵”的意思。有時候，它也可以像“Best regards”那樣被用在信件的末尾處，指“合作愉快”?？梢?，不論從什么語境來說，cheers更偏向于一類祝福語。

在英國，cheers更常見于表示謝謝和再見，在生活中的出現頻率很高。英國人既用cheers向人致謝，也用cheers和朋友告別。

同學們要是和英國人聊天時，不要每次都說thank you和see you，用cheers會讓對方感到更自然親切。

“干了這杯”=bottoms up

Bottoms up!(別丟了s)的意思就是“一飲而盡，一喝到“底””。“干杯”可不能直譯為dry glass，這個詞用在祝酒時，表示“一飲而盡”。人們喝完了整杯酒之后經常把杯子倒過來，讓杯口朝下，以示杯中的酒喝光了，所以可用bottoms up表示“干杯”。

例：

For the further development of our company,bottoms up!

為了公司更好的發(fā)展，干杯!

A:Congratulations on your promotion.Bottoms up!

祝賀你升職了，干杯!

B:Thank you.Bottoms up!
