上一期推出的學(xué)會這七種記憶法，長難單詞也可以過目不忘 - 看老友記學(xué)英語 015， 受到了很多朋友的喜歡。所以我決定以后的老友記分享會向介紹記憶技巧和表達(dá)方式的方向上下功夫。力求能夠讓大家在看完一篇分享以后能夠?qū)W到真正的干貨，每次都有進(jìn)步。

本期會著重擴(kuò)展和講解十個表達(dá)方法，出現(xiàn)的生詞也會帶有記憶技巧，保證過目不忘。
1.
Phoebe:Okay, okay.If I were omnipotent for a day, I would want, um, world peace, no more hunger,good things for the rain-forest...And bigger boobs!
翻譯：
如果有一天我變得無所不能，我要世界和平，不再有饑餓，雨林不再遭受破壞，還有更大的胸部。
單詞記憶技巧：
Omnipotent [?m'n?p?t(?)nt]:adj.無所不能的；全能的；有無限權(quán)力的。
還是利用拆詞法- omn + i + potent：
omn可以聯(lián)想成own,就是把w反扣成m；i用原義，我；potent有效的；強有力的,也可以聯(lián)想到potential,潛能，取前邊一部分。
那么連起來就可以這樣記：當(dāng)我擁有了無限潛能，我就無所不能. When I own potential I would be omnipotent.
句子解析：
首先這是虛擬語氣，用的是過去時態(tài)。這句話我們平時也常會用，比如說別人讓你許個愿望的時候就可以說：If I were omnipotent for a day, I would want all my beloved ones to be happy and healthy.

Ross:I cannot sleep in a public place. Libraries, airplanes, movie theaters.
Monica:When you were little, you slept at the "grand canyon".
翻譯：
我在公共場合根本睡不著， 圖書館，飛機(jī)上，電影院里。
你很小的時候在大峽谷睡著了。
單詞記憶技巧：
grand canyon美國著名的大峽谷。canyon,峽谷這個詞其實非常好記，yon就是you反寫u,可以想成，你在倒立。那么聯(lián)系起來就是，你敢在（can you)峽谷（canyon)邊上倒立嗎？
句子解析：在公共場所的表達(dá)方法：in a public place.如，You are not allowed to smoke in a public place.公共場所，禁止吸煙。

Ross:It's okay,y'know, you just nodded off again.
翻譯：
你又睡著了。
句子解析：
nod off,打盹,犯困。這個詞可以非常好地形容我們上班犯困的時候。I used to nod
off in the afternoon.我下午經(jīng)常打盹。
4.
Phoebe: My grandmother has this new boyfriend, and they're both kind of insecure in bed.Oh, and deaf. So they're constantly, like, having to reassure each other thatthey're having a good time. You have no idea how loud they are!
翻譯：
我祖母交了一個新男友,他們倆在床上翻來覆去.還耳聾…于是兩人不斷確定彼此盡興.你不知道他們有多吵。
單詞延伸：
Insecure [??ns??kj??(r)]：adj.不安全的；不穩(wěn)定的；不牢靠的。
I am insecure about how he feels about me.我不確定他對我的感覺。
Secure:adj.安全的；無慮的；有把握的；穩(wěn)當(dāng)?shù)?
Safe:adj.安全的；可靠的；平安的.
safe：主要指人或物未受危險或損害。He returned home,safe and sound.他安全無恙地回到家里。
secure：著重指由于環(huán)境等因素而使人產(chǎn)生的安全感，含可以不必?fù)?dān)心或害怕的意味。The child felt secure near its parents.靠近自己的父母親,這孩子覺得安全.
Reassure [ri??'???]:使…安心，使消除疑慮. assure加了前綴re.
I tried to reassure her,"Don't worry about it. We won't let it happen again." 我盡力使她安心，“別擔(dān)心，我們不會允許它再發(fā)生

Ross:So, I'm guessing you had an extra ticket and couldn't decide which one of you got to bring a date?
翻譯：
一定是你們多了一張票，但是不能決定你們誰帶一個人去。
句子解析：
extra ticket多余的票，extra 多余的，額外的?？梢杂浵旅鎺讉€固定用法：
1. I want to earn extra income.額外的。
2. I have an extra ticket. 多余的。
3. There's an extra blanket. 備用的。
Bring a date: bring a date這個date是約會對象的意思.

Chandler:Well, aren't we Mr. "The glass is half empty."
翻譯：
我們不是悲觀的半杯水先生。
解析：
"The glass is half empty"有這樣的一種比喻：“如果有一個只裝了一半水的水杯，樂觀者認(rèn)為‘水杯有一半是滿的’，悲觀者則認(rèn)為‘有一半是空的’”，這就是“pessimist”（悲觀主義者）和“The glass is half empty”關(guān)系的由來。
Chan說的“Mr. "The glass ishalf empty"”即是pessimist（悲觀主義者）的意思；當(dāng)Ross說“我猜你們是因為多出來一張票而又不能定下誰可以帶女友去（bringa date），所以才叫我的”，現(xiàn)在愛搞笑的Chan又開始發(fā)揮他的幽默去企圖否認(rèn)Ross的看法，于是狡辯到：“哈哈，我們需要這么悲觀嗎？（潛臺詞是：你還可以樂觀的看待這件事的另一面）”
Ross:Oh my God,oh- is today the twentieth, October twentieth?
今天正好是十月二十號啊。

Chandler:Eleven days before Halloween.. all the good costumes are gone?
單詞記憶技巧：
Costume：['k?stju?m] n.服裝，裝束。costume designer服裝設(shè)計師。子莯的夢想就是做一個服裝設(shè)計師啊。
但是這個夢想要花費你我畢生的時間去實現(xiàn)。costuandme = costume.
8.
Ross:Today's the day Carol and I first.. consummated our physical relationship. (Joey is puzzled.) Sex. ..You know what, I-I'd better pass on the game. I think I'm just gonna go home and think about my ex-wife and her lesbian lover.
翻譯：
今天是我第一次和卡蘿…進(jìn)行肉體接觸…作愛。我不去看球賽了，我還是回家，想想我的前妻和她的愛人吧
單詞記憶技巧：
consummated :['k?nsj?me?t; -s?-]vt.完成；作成. consummate theproject:完成這個項目。
consummate = consume(消費）mate（伙伴），當(dāng)你消費完了你的伙伴，你就大功告成了。

Ross:Alright,alright, maybe it'll take my mind off it. Do you promise to buy me a big thumb finger?
翻譯：好吧,或許能讓我忘記傷痛，但你要幫我買個大手指。
解析：
take my mind off it = let it go,如果有人和你說失戀了，你就可以這樣安慰她：Take your mind off itand make yourself better.
10.
Phoebe:I rememberthe day I got my first pay check. There was a cave in in one of the mines, andeight people were killed.
翻譯：
我記起拿到第一份薪水的那一天，礦場塌陷八人慘遭活埋。
解析：
cave in：塌落；認(rèn)輸。
After a ruinous strike, the union caved in.在一次造成極大破壞的罷工之后，工會妥協(xié)了。
